In the eleven years prior to his present position, Mr. DePrimo served as Senior Litigation Counsel for the American Family Association Center for Law & Policy (CLP). The CL&P, which ceased operating in 2007 after seventeen years of public service, was a public interest law firm that specialized in constitutional litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country, and also advised state and federal legislators on constitutional, political and legal issues. The primary purpose of the CLP was to defend and vindicate the First Amendment free speech and free exercise rights of Christians and Christian entities, and to use legal means to oppose pornography, obscenity, abortion, and gay marriage. Mr. DePrimo has argued numerous cases before federal courts of appeal and state supreme courts on behalf of individuals whose constitutional rights were infringed by the unlawful actions of government officials. In addition to his litigation practice, he advised state and local officials on matters of public policy and legislation, including Internet filtering of pornography and other materials harmful to minors. Mr. DePrimo was a regular contributor for We Hold These Truths, a daily radio program featuring the CLP attorneys discussing constitutional issues, particularly the First Amendment and other issues of public policy. The program aired on nearly 200 American Family Radio stations across the country. Mr. DePrimo is a nationally recognized expert in regulation of sexually oriented businesses and is invited to speak on this issue to groups across the country. Mr. DePrimo also has lectured at continuing legal education seminars for practicing lawyers. He has appeared as a guest on national radio programs and been quoted in numerous media outlets. Mr. DePrimo is licensed to practice law in the states of Conn., Miss. and Va. In addition, he is admitted to most United States Courts of Appeal and the United States Supreme Court. He received his law degree from Regent University School of Law in 1989. He resides in Tupelo, Miss. |
