Nineteen pro-family organizations call for boycott of Ford Motor Company
(Tupelo, MS) - Nineteen pro-family organizations have called for a one-year boycott of Ford Motor Company because of Ford’s financial support for homosexual groups which promote same-sex marriage. The boycott was called after Ford reneged on an agreement with American Family Association (AFA) to end such funding. AFA chairman Donald E. Wildmon said Ford reneged on the agreement to stop funding homosexual organizations and activities and advertising in homosexual media. The boycott includes all Ford made automobiles including Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Volvo, Land Rover, Mazda and Jaguar. “Ford has the right to financially support homosexual groups promoting homosexual marriage, but at the same time consumers have a right not to purchase automobiles made by Ford. We have established BoycottFord.com listing information on the boycott,” Wildmon said. Complete information concerning the boycott can be found at BoycottFord.com. In May, 2005, AFA called for a boycott of Ford products. AFA later suspended the boycott for six months at the request of several dealers, giving time to resolve the issue. In November an agreement was reached which would have ended the boycott, but according to AFA, Ford reneged on the agreement under pressure from several homosexual groups. Pro-Family organizations endorsing the boycott of Ford include: American Family Association Center for Reclaiming America Citizens for Community Values Vision America Free Market Foundation WIN Family Services Liberty Counsel CatholicVote.org Point of View Radio Coalitions for America Mayday for Marriage RealMarriage.org Judeo-Christian Council Constituent Voice Faith2Action Coalition for Marriage and Family ConservativeHQ.com Tradition, Family, Property, Inc. Other organizations are expected to endorse the boycott during the next few weeks.
